The Lightning Detection System (SDR) is an integrated technological solution for the monitoring of atmospheric electrical activity and the issuance of early risk alerts, contributing to the protection of people, assets and operations. Unlike meteorological services that are based only on forecasts and satellite images, the SDR of SOS Raios carries out direct measurement of the atmospheric electric field, allowing the identification of the approach of storms and the assessment, in real time, of the cliff levels associated with atmospheric discharges, such as precision and anticipation capacity.The sensor operates within a radius of 10 km from the point of installation of the system, detecting its warning information within a radius of 40 km from the installed location, enabling greater antecedent in making preventive decisions and not planning safety actions.
Alerts and provision
The alerts are generated automatically by the system itself, with visual and audio signals not local to the installation, as well as the sending of automatic notifications. In this way, as responsible teams you are informed even when you are outside the operating room, guaranteeing fast and reliable communication in critical situations.
Compliance and technology
The SDR incorporates advanced technologies that expand and qualify the monitoring of electrical storms, in accordance with ABNT NBR 16.785/2019, which establishes the requirements for Protection against atmospheric discharges – Electrical storm warning systems, aimed especially at the safety of people in open areas. The system integrates satellite images, local weather forecast, atmospheric discharge counter and weather station with data in real time, including wind information, atmospheric pressure, temperature, relative air humidity, solar radiation, UV index, precipitation and evapotranspiration.
